About the World Heritage paradise
You’ll feel special on Lord Howe Island. Only 400 visitors are allowed at any one time, although you will have to share this island paradise, 600 km east of the Australian mainland, with huge flocks of seabirds that nest there each year.
You can scuba dive and snorkel among more than 500 species of fish in crystal-clear waters on the world’s most southerly coral reefs, or spot them from the comfort of a glass-bottomed boat. Walking trails criss-cross the island, from lush rainforest and tranquil beaches to the island’s summits. Mount Gower rises 875 metres and has spectacular panoramic views from the top.
